    Top 13 Smartphones used in India for 2012

    We all know Millions of Smartphones get launched in the world every month. So, people obviously get confused which handset to buy and which not according to the features embedded with the device, which is better, which will be useful, etccc. So I decided to share a list of Smartphones from all smartphone brands that are used by most of Inidan’s in this country. I guess this will help people to make their decision bit fast and can have the heandsets that suits their needs. Have a look:

    1. Nokia C5-03:

    Nokia C5-03 is a smartphone running on Symbian S60 powered by ARM 11 processor with 600 MHz. It is an entry level 3G handset with 3.2-inch resistive touch screen offering 260 x 640 pixels. The device also features a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, A-GPS. Nokia C5-03 also provides connectivity supports for GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Its battery life is also good offering 4.5 hrs with 3G and upto 11 hours on 2G network. You can also charge the battery simply by connecting to PC via USB Cable.

    2. Nokia C6

    The Nokia C6 comes is a slide-out Qwerty keypad with 3.2-inch touchscreen display offering 360 x 640 pixels resolution. This is also useful for the people who want to remain connected with their friends and family as you get your Titter and Facebook feeds live on your device Home Screen. Its other features include Wi-Fi and 3G, GPS Navigation, 5 megapixel rear camera with a LED Flash, Bluetooth, and 16 GB expendable memory. It also comes with Ovi Maps 3.3 Touch preinstalled and offers battery life upto 7 hours.

    3. Samsung Wave Y S5380

    Samsung Wave Y S5380 is on the 3rd position as per the usage in India. It is powered by Samsung’s own Bada v2.0 operating system running on 832 MHz processor. It can be also said as the sister of Samsung Galaxy Y as per its looks and few features. It features a 3.2 inch Capacitive Touchscreen that is bit larger than the galaxy y and can be used with both 2G and 3G networks. It also supports Samsung’s touchwiz interface. There are many other features such as 2 MP camera, FM Radio, 32 GB expandable memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and A-GPS. Its 1200 mAh battery provides more than 10 hours of talk time.

    4. Samsung Galaxy Y S5360

    The Samsung Galaxy Y is the best device in terms of Budget Android phone. Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, you can get millions of apps and games from Google Play store. No matter being an entry level Android Smartphone in India it features some interesting stats such as powered by 800 MHz processor, 3-inch QVGA display, 2Mega Pixel Camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth. It offers built-in 180MB storage and can be expanded using Micro SC Card. It also offers a 3.5mm headset jack that allows you to enjoy your music on any popular headsets or speakers.

    5. Samsung Galaxy Y Duos

    The Galaxy Y Duos is the elder Sis of Galaxy y S5360 with Dual Sim support and running on the same Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. One more feature that makes it different from GY S5360 is the 3 megapixel primary camera and 2 megapixel secondary camera at the front. The handset is powered by 832 Mhz processor and consists 3.14-inch capacitive touchscreen offering 240 x 320 pixels resolution. Its other features include TouchWiz UI, built-in apps like Facebook, Twitter, and SocialHub. Its external memory can be expanded upto 32 GB using SD Card.

    HTC One X is the biggest hit of year 2012 till now, that even gave a strong competition to Samsung Galaxy S3. It will be not wrong if named as the flagship phone from the HTC One series. The One X is running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwith with a large and beautiful 4.7-inch Super LCD display offering 1280 x 720 pixel resolutions. The device is powered by fast 1.5GHZ Quad core processor and 1GB of RAM. Other important specs are such as 16GB of memory, 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and 1080p HD video recording, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE and HSPA+ support, massive 1800 mAh standard Li-Ion battery.

    7. Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830

    The Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 has a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display of HVGA resolution. It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and can be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It consists 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen offering 320 x 480 pixels resolution and is powered by 800 processor and Adreno 200 GPU for gaming purpose. Galaxy Ace other features include 5 megapixel camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, TouchWiz V3.0 UI, Swype Text Input Method and DNSe Sound Enhancement, Micro USB, 3.5mm jack and a GPS receiver. Its Li-Ion 1350 mAh battery offers pretty good battery life of upto 11hrs with 2G network.

    8. Samsung Galaxy Note

    Samsung Galaxy Note is one of the most iconic Android based device that can be used as a Tablet as well as a Smartphone. Powered by a strong 1.4 GHz Dual Core ARM processor Galaxy Note runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but can be upgraded to ICS later sometime. It other features includes 8 megapixel primary camera capable to record HD videos and a 2 megapixel secondary camera. Its 5.30 Inch Super amoled touchscreen even defeats the samsung galaxy s2 by a wide margin.

    9. Nokia Asha 300

    Though Asha touch Series is yet to be released in coming months, earlier Nokia Asha 300 has gained some good interest in the people. Asha 300 running Symbian S40 is a touch and type handset offers a QWERT keypad as well as a small screen with touch features. It runs on fast 1 GHz processor and consists a 2.4-inch touchscreen at 240 x 360 pixel resolution. There is built-in storage capacity upto 100MB and can be expanded upto 32GB using SD Card. Its other features include Wi-Fi, 3G, 5 MP camera with video recording, music player, FM radio.

    10. Micromax Superfone A73

    Android based Micromax A73 is the second member of Micromax's Superfone series after Micromax A85. It is a Dual Sim smartphone running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered by 650 MHz processor. It consist a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen where you can enjoy thousands of games and apps downloaded from the built-in Google Play store. Its other features include dual camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. The device also supports external memory upto 32GB where you can save a huge stock of music and videos.

    11. Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S

    Xperia Arc S is a high end Android based smartphone running on 1.4 GHz processor and 512MB RAM that can be even good for 3d Gamers. There is Android 2.3 OS with a 4.2-inch LED-backlit LCD display powered by Sony Bravia Engine Tenhnoplogy. Its other features includes 8.1 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash with HD recording capability. It has 32 GB of expandable memory aprt from its 1GB Built-in storage capacity. Even there is problem for connectivity as the device is compatible for GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi Fi platforms.

    Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S costs Rupees 22875/- in June 2012

    12. Nokia Lumia 800

    This is the first ever device where Nokia used others operating system apart from its Symbian. Nokia Lumia 800 is its flagship phone running on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Powerd by 1.4GHz processor, Adreno 205 graphics card and 512MB RAM Lumia 800 smartphone comes with a 3.7-inch Amoled display with Gorilla Glass offering 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Game play experience is enhanced by its Adreno GPU where it can run many of latest games compatible with Windows platform. In addition there is a 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash that can record 720p HD video. Lumia 800 comes with built-in 16 GB storage and cannot be expanded further.

    13. Apple iPhone 4S

    Apple’s iPhone 4s is the 5th Generation of Apple iPhone with a sleek, sharp and thin design. Running on Apple’s own iOS operating system it has 3.5-inch retina screen offering 640 X 960 pixel resolution. The device comes with many useful built-in apps such as Face Time, iMessage, etc. Other than this, iPhone 4S consists Apple iCloud service, 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash that allows to record Full HD video with Geo tagging and many more.

    Thank you so much for such a great information guys, its really helpful for people looking to buy new phone. It helps to decide them which phone to go with. But thelist is very short, can you guys please update it with the latest released phones as well? It will be great.
