What is the right time to choose iCloud:

iCloud is usually a free service by Apple and you can extend the space by subscription. It is essential to know when is the right time to use iCloud. So that you do not un-necessary subscribe something you donít want. iCloud is the best wireless backup. This also works through pc connectivity. Following list is good to understand when it is best.

What does not work with iCloud?

iCloud does not support any multimedia files. That means you cannot upload an audio/video file on that. If you had bought the songs and video from iTunes then you can store. But you cannot just store anything. You cannot store audio books or photos that are not synced with your pc. iCloud has a feature through which you can restore your purchased music and movies from iTunes store.

    How to use iCloud Backup?

    • Go on Apple.com and create Apple ID.
    • You have to sign in to your apple id when you start the phone for the first time. You can also do this from settings > accounts.
    • Just accept all the terms and condition. The next screen will ask you to use icloud.
    • Now enable those things that you want to sync. Like Contacts, Mail, Safari, Notes, etc.
    • You can setup automatic or manual sync as per your need from the settings.
    • You can login in iCloud app in your Mac system to check your uploaded files.

Should I go with iTunes Backup ?

The second process is to use iTunes backup. iTunes is available for Windows and Mac both. You can connect the device and just sync. iTunes is a kind of pc suite software that has an integrated media player and app store. You can not only sync files but you can also check your songs. You can transfer your files quiet easily. It is easier to manage. Flowing points can help you to decide to go for iTunes backup or not.
    • You always have a pc in your range. It can be Mac or windows. You connect your phone regularly to transfer files.
    • You do not want to use iCloud as you are not having good internet setup.
    • There is more than 1GB of videos and photos in your phone storage. And you donít want to buy subscript to iCloud.
    • You want to keep your files in your pc only. Or you are having other cloud storage solution.

    Issues with iTunes Backup:

iTunes backup does not work with apps and podcast. Also it will not create multiple copies of your files. It will be used best as a syncing tool for your device. It is very handy and is also best for updating your device.

    Process to use iTunes:

    • In Mac system iTunes bet pre-installed by default and in Windows you can download it.
    • To start sync you have to connect the ipad with the pc through usb cable. And click on sync.
    • The process starts. It is very easy for everyone to use. Because you are on a pc and you have option to manage files as per your need.
    • The same software will help you to get new apps in your device. You can also use it for adding media to your phone.

Still Confuse which backup to use?

If you are still confused then I can clear your doubts. The best thing you can do is try to use both of them. You can use iTunes on your pc and enable iCloud on your mobile phone. So that you get all the options at one place. You can multiple copies of your file on the cloud and on the hard drive as well. At one place you can use iTunes to restore your files instantly and if your pc is not accessible then you can use your internet to restore. Using both of them is the best effective solution I think.
