    Blackberry Z3 review

Blackberry is the most reputed and status oriented smartphone in the mobile world but name is been washed out from last few years. After the launch of iPhone and Android powered smartphones, people got diverted from QWERTY keypad smartphones to full touch operated smartphones. Once people used to buy Blackberry phones just because of its QWERTY features and as well as for status, only high class people used to afford Blackberry phone because of its pricing. Now the world has moved from QWERTY phone to touch-screen phones making Blackberry to be a part of history.

Blackberry knows the potential in it as well as on going market trend, so to cope up with market trend and competition Blackberry is going to launch its new smartphone which is full touch operated with super features and hardware specifications. Pricing of the Blackberry phones were not affordable for all segment users which was major drawback by Blackberry.

Keeping in mind the current market situation, Blackberry has changed its marketing strategy and pricing and with such innovative change in ethics, Blackberry is going to present powerful smartphone Blackberry Z3 in affordable price. You will experience huge display, better camera and hardware specifications and good battery as stated by Blackberry. Let’s check out whether this new flagship will stand in the market or it will result in to another disappointment for Blackberry.

    Design and Packaging:

Design and form of every Blackberry phone is perfect, everybody knows and had experience the pleasure of holding Blackberry phones. No one in the world would be disappointed with the looks and build of any Blackberry device. New flagship too has superior design and body which we are going to explore. Blackberry Z3 looks like rectangular slab same as Sony Xperia Z series, but has very different body design compare to Sony smartphones. Body of the phone is made up of plastic itself but back is carved with texturised soft-touch plastic which enhances the feel and looks of the phone.

Front of the phone is smooth with huge 5-inch screen in the middle with very little bezel space around the screen. Branding of Blackberry and its logo below the display looks marvelous whereas top of the display is covered by earpiece and front camera. There is no ambient light sensors for Blackberry Z3 which means we need to auto adjust the screens brightness.

Now coming to the back of the phone as we discussed that phone has texture designed back with camera and flash at top left corner and centre of the back is occupied by Blackberry logo which looks stunning. Back of the phone is not removable which can be good or can be a drawback of the phone. Now coming to sides of the phone, which contains very useful hardware and slots like power on/off button along with volume rocker buttons on right side of the phone whereas left side occupies with SIM slot and microSD card slot.

Between the volume rocker buttons we have traditional voice command button which is commonly found in Blackberry phones. Top of the phone has 3.5mm audio jack for headset and other enhancement whereas down sides houses with mic for audio input and microUSB slot for charging and data transfer via USB cable. Body design is perfect and will grab the attention of user’s world wide.

    Display / Screen:

No one in the world would have ever complained about the display of any Blackberry phones. Blackberry has always come up with clear and superior display for its users; QWERTY keypad phone had very small display to find out any flaws in it. Blackberry has already launched phones like Z10 and Z2 installed with super clear display but this phone were priced at higher segment phone. Z3 too has good display properties which we are going to reveal, 5-inch capacitive touch screen with resolution of qHD is let down factor for Blackberry. Z3 has 220ppi but manages to output vibrant and crisp color reproduction.

iewing angles of the display is good but not perfect and sun-legibility is also average in the phone. May be phone falls in budget segment so Blackberry was not successful providing good display properties in its latest flagship. Display feature of Z3 is pretty good but won’t provide you with best display experience like high-end segment phone. Compare to budget phone in the market Blackberry Z3’s display is good and impressive.

    Camera Quality:

Blackberry Z3 is encased with 5MP camera to capture your favorite moments. Blackberry provides good camera for its flagship and so Z3 is also blessed with the same. Though Z3’s 5MP will not deliver with the same performance like other high-end model in Blackberry still it manages to give you the best. Day light imaging is too good in this phone but zooming a little blurs image clarity and loss of colors are visible. Low light imaging is good but noise is clearly visible while capturing in dark or low lighting condition.

Camera allows you to capture videos at 1080p resolution which is thumbs up factor in camera section of Z3. It also has front camera of 1.1MP for video calling and video chat at 720p which is again good factor in Z3. Camera section of Z3 is good compared to same budget phones in the market.

    Hardware and Performance:

Performance of the phone is based on the engine provided in the device and engine of Blackberry Z3 is taken care of by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. All mid-range segment phones are now coming up with Snapdragon 400 processor and when Snapdragon is taking care of performance there is no point in reviewing it. Blackberry Z3 is running on Dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait 200 and 1.5GB RAM along with Adreno 305 GPU making this phone fantastic in terms of performance.

Compare to Android phones with same pricing you will notice Blackberry Z3 has lower end processors but these two core processor in Z3 is capable of handling all the instructions fired by the user. Blackberry has 5-inch display which can be used for entertainment, work or playing HD games and all this are handled easily on your Z3 with good response time. Blackberry Z3 is given with 8GB internal memory and is allowed further to enhance its memory by means of SD card. It has all the connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

    Re: Blackberry Z3 review

Blackberry Z3 is running on new BB 10 OS which was in the news from last so many days. New OS by Blackberry has many innovative features and improved UI for better user experience which now can be experienced in your Blackberry Z3. It comes with version 10.2.1 which is considerably improved over the version that was found in Z10. Person using Blackberry Z3 for the first time will be in trouble with the UI of this flagship.

There is no back or home button like we see in Android OS or iOS so one need to know the gesture and method is same for launching and quitting of the apps. UI seems to be very professional oriented rather than user friendly oriented. Blackberry hub and Blackberry messenger is the top feature of every Blackberry phones so it can be enjoyed in this new flagship too. It also comes with useful apps like FourSquare, Evernote, DocsToGo, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Adobe Reader, YouTube and DropBox.

Blackberry Z3 is powered with 2,500 mAh battery to support phone for longer duration. You can experience talk-time of 15 hours which is pretty okay. If you are more prone to browsing or social networking still you can stay with your phone for more than 6 hours, so battery backup of the phone is not up to the mark.

    Re: Blackberry Z3 review

Blackberry Z3 will be the new break through for Blackberry and will definitely grab world’s attention. Price and huge display of the phone is major advantage of Z3 and has good body design and build too. Camera of the phone is good with decent clarity and is capable of capturing HD videos. Performance of the phone is very reliable because phone is stuffed with Snapdragon 400 chipset.

Battery of the phone is little weak and delivers little less than what was expected. OS and UI can create complexity to new users but for regular Blackberry user it will be just perfect. Overall Blackberry Z3 is good phone to hangout with in such a low price segment.
