Installing Android 4.4.3 Kitkat on Google Nexus 10

Google Nexus 10 comes with Android 4.2 Jellybean operating system. The device is equipped with good hardware to run the latest Android 4.4.3 Kitkat operating system. Today I am going to show how you can update Google Nexus 10 with this new OS. This is not a rooting process. We are going to install Android 4.4.3 Kitkat Stock firmware. And this method does not cause any warranty issue also. Officially Android 4.4.3 Kitkat update is released for Google Nexus 10. You have to go in Settings and tap on About phone. In that tap on Check Software now and download the update. If you due to some reason you are unable to download it or you had not received the OTA update then there is a full manual process for the installation. It is easy and simple.

Before that a few highlights of Google Nexus 10. Google Nexus 10 is an amazing tablet that comes with 10.1 inch TFT LCD display. This display offers you a max resolution of 2560 1600 pixels at 300ppi. It is powered by Exynos 5250 1.7GHz Dual Core Cortex A15 Processor. Which is a high end cpu that allows you fast multi-tasking and app performance? It has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The tablet comes loaded with dual camera an 8MP camera is placed on the back side while a 1.3MP camera is placed on the front side. The tablet runs on 9000mAh battery. The overall hardware configuration of Google Nexus 10 is quiet awesome.

We will now move ahead with installation of Android 4.4.3 Kitkat on it. It is necessary that you must follow the mentioned procedure below properly.

    Requirements:

    • First start you data backup. You can backup your entire tablet content to your pc through WonderShare MobileGo. Just backup everything because here we will overwrite the firmware file. That will wipe out the entire internal storage.
    • Go in Settings and tap on developer option. From there enable usb debugging.
    • You will need a windows pc here. Connect the tablet to the pc and ensure that it has the latest Nexus USB Drivers installed. Do not attempt to move ahead the drivers are not updated.
    • Charge the tablet to maximum. Never attempt to flash the rom if charging is low.
    • Download and setup android ADB and FASTboot on your windows pc. You can also get the download of mac and Linux.
    • Download Android 4.4.3 Kitkat Image

Re: Installing Android 4.4.3 Kitkat on Google Nexus 10

    Installation Process:

    • The below process is only tested for Google Nexus 10. Do not attempt to flash the factory image on any other Nexus device.
    • Extract the content of Android ADB on your desktop in a folder.
    • Extract the content of Android Kitkat 4.4.3 image inside the same folder.
    • Just verify before that the tablet is charged and also usb debugging is on.
    • Now switch off the tablet.
    • You have to hold the power + volume down button at the same time to start the tablet in fastboot mode.
    • Once done connect the tablet to your pc through the original usb cable.
    • Now go in the android adb folder and look for flash-all.bat file. This is for windows. But if you are flashing on Mac or Linux then look for flash-all.sh.
    • Once you run the file the update will start. Wait back until it is over and then reboot your phone.
