    LG L90 Dual Review

After the grand success of the previous flagship LG G2, now LG seems to be on the track. LG has now perfectly mixed up with the market and knows the customers taste. LG has always come up with some new, innovative designs and technologies in its flagships but lacking was its marketing and performance of the phone. LG G2 has proved to be a super success because of perfect balance of both performance and design; LG proved to be the best in all performance and critics test and resulted in winning the heart of majority.

LG has now come up with another super smartphone which will serve in the mid-range segment of the market. LG L90 is the new flagship which is about to launch with many exciting features and amazing performance associated with it. LG L90 is said to be the first phone to launch with stock Android KitKat OS version and is trying the best to give tough competition to major competitor like Motorola.

So let’s explore the features and specifications of new arrival from LG and make a verdict whether this phone will knock the market and customer’s heart or it will again fall in average section. But before all these, let's have a look at the phone's highlights:

    • Android 4.4 KitKat Operating System
    • Dual SIM with dedicated SIM switch key
    • 4.7 inch capacitive touch screen display
    • 960 x 540 pixels resolution
    • 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor
    • 1GB of RAM
    • Adreno 305 GPU
    • 8 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash
    • 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera
    • 8GB Internal memory, expandable upto 32GB using microSD Card
    • 3G (HSPA+21Mbps), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS
    • 2,540 mAh battery

    Design and Packaging:

Let’s have a look in the design section of new LG phone, most of the LG’s mid-range phone comes with plastic body and so the same tradition is carried in new flagship too. LG has tried all round development to outclass Motorola in terms of design, but if you hold both Motorola and LG’s new flagship you will find Motorola has provided good body design and good body built. Design of the phone is big rectangle with curved edges which looks simple and impressive pretty much like LG L7 II which was released last year. LG has made good choice to put handy screen size which makes this phone portable.

Front side of the phone has huge screen and below the screen lays four capacitive touch buttons which is not very common in LG phones. LG has provided dedicated key for switching between the SIM and is placed along with the capacitive touch buttons below the screen. Above the screen lies earpiece at the centre and front camera at the right of the phone. Back of the phone is plastic which has camera and flash at the top center of the phone followed by LG logo at the center of the back which looks cool and below the back panel lies speaker for audio output.

Sides of the phone is also simple and buttons are manipulated on both the sides like volume rocker buttons falls on the right side of the phone and power button falls on the left side of the phone. Likewise upper side of the phone has 3.5mm jack and lower side of the phone has microUSB for charging and USB connectivity. Design and built of the phone is good and is perfect for handling.

    Re: LG L90 Dual Review

    Display / Screen:

LG has always produced good display phones and so there is no doubt about the display properties of this new flagship from LG. Phone is given out with 4.7inch with resolution of 540X960 pixels which is very low compare to other phones released with the same price tag. World has moved to full HD display and LG was not able to provide its flagship with atleast 720p display which is disappointing. LG has made use of IPS LCD technology which is often used in most of the LG phones or also we can say all the LG phones.

Display with 234ppi produces good color reproduction but viewing angle of the phone is not much impressive. You will clearly see color washout when you tilt the phone. Sun-legibility of the phone is good which means you can easily ready your screen while you are under bright light. Screen is protected with Gorilla Glass which will help your phone’s display to protect from scratches. Display features of the phone are just average but with respect to price it should have been more advanced.

    Operating system and UI:

LG L90 dual is the first phone to have stock Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS. Customization of the phone is similar which we saw in LG G2. L90 is also given out with IR (infra-red) port which can assist your TV, music player and many devices; it works same like remote control for most of the devices. Knockcode will help you to unlock the screen by tapping the screen which is now on going trend in all latest smartphones.

    Hardware and Performance:

Design and display are two important factors while determining the phone’s rating, apart from display and design of the phone hardware also plays important role. Powerful the hardware stuffed in, better is the performance of the phone. To cope up with market competition LG has stuffed Quad-core processor phone in mid-range phone segment. Performance like multi-tasking and multi-processing of the apps can be easily handled by 1.2GHz Quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. Most important fact about the hardware is that this phone is powered by Snapdragon 400 chipset which makes computing reliable and fast. GPU of Adreno 305 is also installed on Snapdragon 400 chipset making the phone to have better graphic performance too.

Now imagine with so much of power under hoods how will be the performance of the phone? Answer would be definitely the performance will be smooth and efficient. Performance of the phone is definitely good you can open multiple browser or apps to work at same time and huge RAM allows you to switch among those apps efficiently. Phone is given out with 8GB internal memory which is pretty good storage and further to expand the memory you can make use of microSD card. Phone supports dual-SIM and to switch the SIM all you need to do is press button provided along with capacitive touch buttons.

    Camera quality:

Sporting with 8MP primary camera is excellent choice from LG, because there are many other rivals who have provided much powerful camera in same price line. 8MP camera clicks good images but not impressive, picture captured with the camera are good but low light pictures are noisy. Outdoor shooting is good and produces vibrant color reproduction. Flash is present with the primary camera but does not add weight in the captured picture. You can choose with many settings to get perfect click of your favorites. You can shoot videos in full HD which was must essential factor on this phone. You also have front camera to have video chat and video call which makes the camera section complete.

L90 is powered with 2540mAh battery which is good thought from LG. To run powerful smartphone we need good backup of the battery and LG has delivered the best. You will experience good talktime backup as well as good browsing and playing time on your new LG phone. All type of the users will rejoice this phone in terms of battery backup. Average users will be pleased with the performance of battery and heavy gamers and browsers will also be happy as it provides good backup.

LG is striving hard to stick its ground in all segment, its higher end phone G2 has already proven its strength and now its time to cover all mid-range segment. Phone has average display and design but has good hardware which outputs good performance of the phone. Camera is good but it would have been much better than it is now.

Battery of the phone is amazing which makes phone to run for longer duration. So if you are planning to buy mid-range segment phone then you can definitely go for LGs L90 Dual because it has all essential features which makes this phone perfect for mid-range phone segment.
