How to Root Motorola Moto E

Motorola Moto E is an amazing budget android phone which is recently released in the market. This phone falls in the budget price where it is giving you a lot more than a mobile phone. It is good in terms of performance and also has a very nice body design. At a price for Rs.7000 you are simply getting a amazing Smartphone powered by 1.2 GHz MSM8x10 Dual Core Processor cpu and 1GB Ram. This phone also comes with many durable features. It has Corning Gorilla glass support that means the device more durable to use.

Today I am going to show you how you can root the phone. Rooting has great benefits over factory OS. Through rooting you can simply remove the stock rom and make your phone work more better. You can improve the battery life and boost its performance. Rooting is an unofficial method due to which you will loose the phone warranty if you do that. But extreme users always do this to gain a bit more access to the phone rom. You can modify the phone firmware and other stuff through that. Through rooting you can use custom rom on the device. The good part here is that this device already comes with Android Kitkat OS. And after rooting you can test out many new rom on the same.

    • Backup your phone data. Never try any of this rooting or flashing method if you had not copied your phone data. You will loose everything if the device brick or if the internal storage is wiped out.
    • Charge the phone to maximum. Keep the battery above 80% before moving ahead.
    • Go in settings > applications > development and from there just turn on usb debugging. Once you do this connect the phone to pc to check that your windows pc has latest usb drivers installed or not. If not then you have to download and update that.
    • Before moving ahead you have to Unlock the phone bootloader of your Moto E. There is a separate guide available for the same.
    • Rooting will lose phone warranty. So just move ahead on your own risk.
    • Download mfastboot and Superuser SU package from here.
    • Download TWRP recovery image for Moto E.

    Rooting Process:

    • The first thing you have to do is unlock the boot loader. Without that you cannot move ahead. If you have a unlocked boot loader then just follow up the below process

    • Connect the phone to your pc through original usb cable and then copy the TWRP Recovery image and Superuser SU package in the memory card of Moto E.

    • Disconnect the phone and boot the device in boot loader mode. For that you have to turn off the phone first. Then hold the volume down + power button and once it is in boot loader connect it to your pc.

    • Extract the content of mfastboot package on a folder of your desktop. Go in that and press right click by holding the shift key from keyboard. Choose cmd from that.

    • Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and hit enter. Here the reocveyr.img should the name of file that you had downloaded for rooting.

    • Now you have to use the volume key to enter into recovery from fast boot mode. Use the volume down key to choose recovery.

    • Wait back for few seconds. If the phone does not boot in recovery then hold the screen for 60seconds.

    • Now press the power key to unlock the touch. You can also swipe on screen. Choose install and select the Super Su package.

    • Checkout and follow the instructions on screen. Once done you have to restart your phone.
