Installing TWRP Recovery On LG G2

LG G2 is a high end android Smartphone offering you the latest hardware and android OS. This device provides LG's premium product line in the market. This device run on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat operating system. This is the latest tone and yet Google has not announced anything. But even if there is any new operating system surely this phone is going to get that through OTA. Here in this short guide I am going to show you how you can install TWRP Recovery on this phone. TWRP Recovery is a customer recovery solution for those who want to do with their device. This is ideal for both new and extreme users who are willing to modify the internal rom and make many changes.

If you had heard about CWM then we are talking about a custom recovery module which will load up when you restart your phone. Most of the branded phone in the market comes with factory lock rom. You cannot modify that because the boot loader is locked. But through TWRP you can extend your phone usages. Installing this also means you have to root your phone before. Remember that this is a unofficial method and it will cause loss of warranty. You can restore back the original recovery back only if you can find the stock firmware.

    Requirements:

    • To move ahead the first thing you have to do is charge your phone. Ensure that here is maximum battery left in your phone. Low battery can cause severe consequences on your devices. It can be complete dead.

    • The second thing you have do is backup your entire phone data. You can use the official LG G2 pc suite or many third party software through which you can copy all files on your pc.

    • Rooting can bring many benefits for your mobile phone. Like you can clean the internal space, you can get more better battery by removing stock apps, etc.

    • Remember that after this your phone warranty is gone. Also you might no longer get any future OTA updates.

    • The procedure only work for LG G2.

    • Installation of TWRP Recovery needs a rooted devices. You cannot install this if your phone is not rebooted before. If it is not, you can follow the steps provided here to Root your LG G2. You can verify that by rootchecker app. Just install this and test.

    • Download Auto Rec.apk file from web. There are different version of file available for different mobile version. Like AT&T, and T-Mobile have two different version of AutoRec.apk. So just find the right version before moving ahead.

    Installing TWRP Recovery:

    • Before installing the file just re-verify your phone is rooted or not. You can do that by root checker app.

    • Once done copy the Auto Rec.apk file in the memory card of LG G2.

    • Launch the application. The app will take a bit time and it will need the root access.

    • See the screen and allow root permission and wait back. There will be few more instructions on the screen. Follow them and apply ok for all.
