    How to Install CWM Recovery in Samsung Galaxy Core

    Samsung Galaxy Core is a budget android smartphone. The device comes for Rs.9000 and it is powered by 1.2Ghz Dual Core Application Processor. It is not very high end device but good enough to run various applications and a bit of gaming also. This phone android 4.1 operating system. In this short guide I am going to show you how you can install CWM Recovery not he device so that in future you can simply test custom firmware on the same.

    Most of the device that you buy from the market has a lock bootloader. You cannot overwrite the OS in that. But after installing CWM which also need rooting you can change the OS and enjoy many new features on it. It is essential that you must backup your data before doing this. Another important thing you must know that this process is unofficial. That means after following the CWM recovery installation method you might lose your phone warranty. So better move on your own risk.


    • Charge your phone to maximum. Do not attempt to move ahead with installation if there is very less battery left in your device. It can be risky.
    • Enable USB Debugging. You can find the same in Settings > Applications > Development. Connect the phone to your pc to find your system has the latest usb drivers. If you have installed Samsung Kies then you can skip this process or you can download the latest USB Drivers for your phone from here.
    • It is very important that you follow all the mentioned steps properly. Any mistake will led to dead device.
    • Download CWM Recovery Image for Samsung Galaxy Core
    • Download Odin Package for Samsung Galaxy Core.
    • Above files are only tested for Galaxy Core I8260. Might not work on any other model

    Installation Process:

    • Extract the content of Odin zip archive on your desktop in a folder. Keep the recovery rar also with it.
    • Now launch ODIN. It is a flash tool for Samsung.
    • The second thing you have to do is boot your phone in download mode.
    • For that hold the volume down + home + power button at the same time. Do this after switching off the phone. The device will boot back in download mode.
    • Once done connect the phone to your pc through original usb cable.
    • In order to confirm that the device is properly connected check the ID:Com section. If it turns yellow or green then it is connection properly. But if not then you have to check the usb drivers.
    • Now click on PDA and then choose the rom rar file form the desktop folder.
    • Once done click on Start. Do not touch anything until the recovery image is flashed on your phone.
    • Once everything is done properly the phone will reboot. That will resolve the problem. You can now boot your phone in CWM recovery.
