    Microsoft Security Essentials 'Potentially unprotected'

I am using Windows XP. I am getting a Potentially unprotected error message on my screen when I am trying to update Microsoft Security Essentials on my system. I am having the latest updates installed. I had checked that by running window update.

Then also I am getting this Potentially unprotected. What does this warning refer to. Is my pc infected with some serious virus. Somebody please help.

You have to re-install MSE to resolve the problem. Go on Control Panel > Add/Remove program. From that just click on MSE and uninstall the same. Then reboot your pc back again. Visit the official website and download it. Try to use the latest version. Once it is install MSE will update itself automatically. Scan your system for with that under safe mode.

It is really complicated to deal with this kind of errors. I had seen a article on Microsoft site that shows information about dealing with this Potentially unprotected error message.

Here you have to take care about the updates. Microsoft says that Microsoft Security Essentials continuous to protect your system even after it has any error or problem. You can keep on checking for new updates. This error will be resolved automatically.
