    Display / Screen:

First thing which everyone look in the phone is the screen of the phone and you won’t be disappointed by Turbo mini as this phone is powered with 4.7 inch IPS HD screen display and having resolution of 1280x720 which makes the phone to have better display output. Display is very vivid and crisp and the viewing angles on this phone are also up to the mark.

Same like that of other market leaders this mini version is stuffed smartly, Canvas turbo was full HD so this was obvious that the mini version will have half HD display as per the cost of this phone the display is adjusted very smartly. Display of this phone provided good response under the sunlight as well; you would be able to see the display clearly under sunlight. On other hand the competitors of the Micromax is providing full HD display on same cost of Canvas turbo mini, which will prove to be very challenging for Micromax.

    Hardware and Performance:

The real value of the phone is weighed by its performance and performance of the phone depends on the CPU, RAM and GPU powered in the phone to carry out all the function smoothly. If we talk about the Canvas Turbo mini, this phone is powered with 1.3 GHZ quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor which means computing with the phone is really easy and smooth and 1GB RAM will serve good for fast processing and saving huge cache memory in it.

Canvas Turbo Mini is also powered with Mali 400 GPU which will take care of all the graphic part of the phone. If you are gamer then this phone will serve you the best as the component with which it is powered is very powerful. HD movies, HD games and the multitasking are handled with the ease without any noticeable lag on this Canvas Turbo mini.

Canvas Turbo mini has good 8 MP camera compared to Canvas Turbo which had 13MP camera. Other than the difference in the megapixel of camera you will not find any difference in the camera of Canvas Turbo and Turbo mini version. Camerazzi camera UI is found in both Turbo and Turbo mini version of Micromax Canvas. Camerazzi UI provides all the features like of GIF Animation, Object Removal and many more features.

You can have very good outdoor shooting with the camera stuffed in this phone but low-light click had turned noisy with this phone. Autofocus of the camera is good but autofocus in macro shots proved to be problematic. Phone is provided with LED flash so click on dark place will not be an issue. Phone also has some smart gestures feature which allows you to click picture by moving hand over the proximity sensor.

If you are more in to video recording, then you will find that this phone allows you to click 1080p resolution video at 30fps and video was very bright.

    Operating System and user Interface:

Phone is operating on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with similar user interface like of other phones from Indian OEMs but with slight change as this phone as new white theme which is default and most importantly this white theme is unchangeable which is not good. Drop down notification bar has good set of quick setting options, also there is one key lock option to lock and unlock the phone with ease.

Unlike the Canvas Turbo this new flagship do not have some features like of blow to unlock app, iFloat Tray and Pop up browser but has many resize options than its Canvas Turbo version. The smart gesture in the phone lets you to carry out many actions. One of the important feature of this flagship is you can set the default write disk to SD card and move all your downloaded apps to external SD card easily.

Canvas Turbo mini is preloaded with apps like BBM, Flashlight, Kingsoft Office, Opera Mini and many more. Shocking thing to notice is that Facebook and Twitter are some important apps which were left out of the box; however there is some preloaded wallpapers that is very good and elegant.

    Battery Life:

All the features of this phone are impressive but phone will work only when it has good battery backup. Battery on this phone packs with 1800 mAh lithium-ion battery which is slightly lower than Canvas 4 and Canvas Turbo. Battery life of the phone is not very impressive, if you are average user then this phone will work for day but if you are in to gaming, music and heavy browser then this phone will only work for a few hours more than 6. Battery is non-removable so the option of replacing the battery with spare battery is also cancelled.

Overall the features and specification of the phone is average. You will have good display with balanced body weight and the performance of the phone is good and doesn’t show any lag. Memory can be expanded with the help of memory card slot. As per the price of the phone it is very costly and with the same configuration there are many phones in the market which will give tough completion to Canvas Turbo mini. Phone provides good features like of good display and has very good built. The design of the phone is cool and has a good camera too.

On other hand you will notice that the battery life is very disappointing and is non removable. Launcher of the phone is little overcooked which looks bit messy. For an average user this phone will prove to be the good phone but for heavy user this phone is not advisable.

    • Decent appearance and better build material
    • Better display
    • Good quality Camera pictures

    • Non removable battery, and not good battery backup
