    Installing Xperia 4.2.2 Custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos

    Samsung who has progressed a lot in launching various Android phones for its users, still it has a lot more to offer. A great example for the same is their Galaxy Grand GT-19082 which was launched last year. It is perfect smartphone with large screen with decent hardware and processing power at a budget price. Getting in to its features, then it comes with a dual core – processor of 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM accompanied with 8 GB Internal Storage and a micro Storage Device (SD) expandable upto 64 GB. It has a 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera which could be a tweaked and optimized to resemble a Sony Xperia. Talking about the battery, which is the heart of any phone, this phone has a battery of 2100mAh which is quiet perfect for its utility.

You can taste out this Android 4.2.2 based Custom ROM based on Xperia ROM which will transform your device into Xperia like interface. This can be done by installing a custom ROM which has features viz. Xperia style custom launcher, de-oxed and pre-rooted,busy box installer, Xperia styled icons, etc. But while rooting and installing a custom ROM, proper guidance is required or else, there might be chances of your phone getting damaged or bricked. So, if you are willing to install this Xperia Custom ROM on your Galaxy Grand, here are some important Prerequisites you need to follow. Have a look:


    • Initially back up of the phone has to be taken as installing a custom ROM will delete all the data available in the internal storage.
    • Enabling USB Debugging on the phone by going to Settings > Developer Options.
    • You also need to download Samsung Galaxy Grand USB Drivers from here and install it on your computer.
    • Download Xperia Custom ROM from here and copy it to your phone's SD Card without extracting the rar. make sure you copy the rom in root of your SD Card because it should be easily accessible while installation.

    Installation steps:

    The process of installing custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy Grand is very easy process. However, you need to follow it carefully as mentioned below:

    • First of all copy paste the downloaded ROM kit to external storage place of your smartphone.
    • Make sure that you do not extract the ROM kit.
    • Switch off your phone.
    • Now boot your phone in recovery mode by pressing Volume up + power + home keys at the same time.
    • Now perform a “data factory reset”, “wipe dalvik cache” and “wipe cache partition” on your smart phone.
    • Choose “install zip from SD card”
    • Select the ROM kit and confirm the selection.
    • Xperia styled custom ROM will be installed on your phone.
    • Go back the main menu of the recovery mode and click on “reboot the system now” option.

    And you are done!!!
