Does there anything exists as password protected zip file?

i have actually loaded a file that is in the format of zip , this WinZip file is actually password protected (it was said so by my elder brother) to extract it. If there are any applications or program that can crack the password protected rar files with considerable amount of time? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

There is indeed a software is envisioned to recover lost passwords for RAR/WinRAR archives of versions 2.xx and 3.xx. The software locates by the method of exhaustive search all likely groupings of characters (that is well known "brute force" attack), or taking one by one passwords from lists ("wordlist" or "dictionary" method). Self-extracting archives and multivolume archives are sustained.

Well that may happen in some cases but not in all the cases, this method is clearly not feasible if there is a long list of passwords and that to not sure that the password would be from one of those .There is a way that, if the list is quite long the names that are likely to be the actual password are prefixed with the letter Ďpí. That makes a lot easier to identify the password. I guessed that would be small help for you.
