Windows Store not working in Windows 8.1

I cannot access Windows Store on Windows 8.1. This was working fine before when I was on Windows 8. I am having Dell XPS 12 system. I had gone with fresh update. Windows 8.1 setup is now installed and did not give out any error. Later on I went on Windows Store to get new applications and games. But it failed. I am getting a Windows Store Failed error.

How to fix this thing? Somebody please help.

There is a tiny fix for that that might help. I am not completely sure. It looks the update has some problem with old files in the system which cause this error.

So here you have to run a command to re-register the store app. After which the store might start working back. For that launch cmd on your system. In that type

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore|AppxManifest.xml
without quotes and hit enter. After that try once again to access tore.

There are few things you can try out. The easiest one is to run system file checker. If there is any damage file or any corrupt file it will be replaced and fixed through SFC. Run cmd in admin mode. And in that type sfc /scannow.

Wait back until the utility scan everything. If you can see any errors then you have to troubleshoot them. If you add Windows disc in your system, the utility will replace the damage files.

Turn off your antivirus and test back. I got the issue on Avira. When the antivirus was active I was unable to browse anything. But later when I turned it off it started working fine. I had removed Avira and switched to AVG. This antivirus does not create any issue in access windows store. In your case you have to turn off your antivirus app. It might be causing the issue.
