Update Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with Android 4.4 Kitkat Firmware

Galaxy Note 2 is a nice phablet that offers you amazing performance. Being a big size phone you have more to do on it. Samsung always offers us an optimized version of Android OS that enhance the usage. Now here you have a chance to get Android 4.4 Kitkat. Officially Samsung has not provided any detail when they are going to give use an OTA update on this. And that might be next year only if possible. We can go ahead with a manual installation.

You can now install Android 4.4 Kikat OS through custom rom. This rom is called as Paranoid Custom ROM firmware... After installing the same you will get the latest android update with rich features and great output. Right now the phone has Jellybean 4.3.1 Android update. Which is the last we had seen? So let’s move ahead with installation of this fresh new rom. But remember that this process needs rooting. So your phone warranty is void.

    • Backup your phone completely. You must backup everything. This is quiet important. You can use Samsung Kies for the process.
    • Ensure that your phone has more than 80% of battery left. Don't run this process on low battery.
    • Enable USB Debugging. The option is located under Settings > Applications > Development > Usb Debugging.
    • Download the Jellybean 4.4 Firmware Package
    • Download Google Apps Package
    • Make sure your Note 2 is Rooted. If you had already rooted and not sure then use root checker to verify the settings.

Re: Update Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with Android 4.4 Kitkat Firmware

Remember that this will void your phones warranty. So you must do this on your own risk. Second thing do not forget to follow my requirements mentioned above.

    Installation Process:

    • Start by copying the downloaded Jellybean 4.4 Firmware Package and GAPPS in the memory card of Samsung Galaxy Note 2
    • The second step is to boot the phone in recovery mode. For that first turn off the phone and then hold the Volume up key + Menu + Power button.
    • The phone will reboot in recovery mode. From that choose install from Zip card.
    • Choose the Firmware package first. Wait back until the process is complete.
    • The next thing you have to do is choose the GAPPS package.
    • The entire process will take very less time. So leave the phone aside.
    • Once done reboot your phone and enjoy the new rom.
