    Today we will check out how you can Root your Samsung Galaxy Mega smartphone in minutes with easiest and successful method. But before going for the same, have a look at some highlights of this phone. Samsung Galaxy Mega is a big screen size phone offering more space on the home display. The front screen size offers 5.8 display sizes which is amazing. This device is recently launched with Android 4.2 OS. This is the latest Android Jellybean update offering our great new features. This is one of the biggest size phones available in the market. Samsung has applied Mega UX which is a new UI offering smooth performance and amazing touch experience. The device is powered y 1.4 GHz Dual core CPU. This processor is enough capable to run different application and games on the Smartphone. Samsung has extended the ram to 1.5GB so that it can carry out smoother operation. The front screen provides maximum resolution of 960x540 pixels which is great enough for multimedia. Also it has dual camera support. A 8MP camera lies on the backside offering you good video and photo capturing output along with 1.9 mp on the front that looks decent enough for video chat. The internal storage of this device lies around 8GB and you can extend that up to 64GB with the help of memory card. Galaxy Mega 2.8 is an amazing device with great screen size and better hardware configuration. Here I am going to show you show you how to root the phone. Rooting is a simple but sometime complicated if not done properly. Rooting allow you to add super user access to the phone. That makes it more beneficial in using the phone. Now the device comes loaded with an optimized version of Android OS. You can install app, but you cannot go ahead with install custom rom or taking the backup. That remains limited as you don't have full access. Rooting offers a complete rom access that can be modified and applied. We will ahead with the process of rooting Galaxy Mega.

    Before moving ahead I want to give you a little information on Clockworkrecovery. What is the benefit of using it? ClockWorkRecovery is a popular feature of ClockWorkMod. CWM is a complete pack of advance features and option through which you can troubleshoot your phone instantly. It is very easy to use and provide you advance solution. Being a custom rom if you do not go ahead with proper rooting process your phone might brick. That means it will stuck on boot. It will not move ahead. To fix that through WM you can go ahead with installing custom rom back on the device. Rooting unlock all hidden feature of the device. You can extend the internal storage and do various new things. So letís move ahead with the process.

    • Try to backup your data before. You can use Samsung Keis for that. Or you can go ahead with any third party application. You can install it to backup the internal contacts, photos, videos, sms, etc and restore them when the rooting process is done. This to stay on the safer side.
    • The process mentioned here is tested on Galaxy Mega. This might work on some other Samsung device also, but you must do that on your own risk. Because there is not guarantee that it might work on any other model.
    • Your phone must have maximum battery left. It must be above 80%. If the battery is low and the rooting process does not goes well the device will brick. So ensure that there is maximum battery left.
    • To use this process you will have to connect the phone to your pc. So just for temporary basis disable your antivirus.
    • Turn on usb debugging. Go in Settings > Applications > Development > Usb debugging. Turn it on.
    • Use the original Samsung cable only that comes in the package for this kind of process.

    Files require for the process:
    • Download and install the latest Samsung USB driver in your system. If you have Kies installed, then there is no need to find new divers.
    • Download CWM Touch Recovery. There is a separate package available for Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.
    • Download ODIN and extract it on your desktop.
    • Download SuperUser Zip

    Rooting Process:

    • Download all the files mention above and keep them in a folder.
    • From the downloaded file open up ODIN. You will have to install this first. Run ODIN and wait back.
    • Copy Super User zip in a memory card and insert it in your phone.
    • You have to turn your phone off and you will have to boot in download mode. This mode is separate compare to recovery mode. Here you have to hold the volume down + home + power key. When you hold this key combination the phone boot in Download mode. You will get an ODIM mode message on the screen.
    • Connect the mobile phone to your pc using original Samsung usb cable. If your system has updated Samsung usb driver then the ODIN software which is working on your desktop will detect the phone. Or else you will have to re-install the drivers back.
    • Ensure that there is no tick available on repartition. And add a tick on auto reboot. Once the device is properly detected lick on PDA TAB.
    • You will get a popup explorer window from where you have to choose recovery.tar.md5. Select this file.
    • After selecting the file click on Start button. This will launch the custom recovery process.
    • You have to wait back until this process is working. You must get a green color message at the end that the process is successfully completed. If you get any error then do the process back again.
    • Without turning your phone ON, you have to go in recovery mode to run the Super User zip for forting. So hold the power button to turn it off. Then again press the volume up key + home button + power key for some time.
    • The phone will boot in Recovery mode. From here use the volume key for navigation purpose and choose install from zip card. Choose super user update from the SD card and run it. Wait for sometime until the process is properly over.
    • Once done your device is rooted. You can now move ahead with installing custom rom and apps in your phone.
