    Samsung Galaxy S4 Review

As tweeted by Samsung, They launched their new smartphone “Galaxy S4” on March 14th in Ney York. Samsung Mobiles has rocked the market all over world with their Galaxy Series Smartphones, whether it is Galaxy 1,2 or Galaxy 3, Note 1 or whether it is Galaxy Grand. All smartphones launched in this series has been huge success in the smartphone world. Now they are back with yet another revolutionary and the smartest phone so far, Galaxy S IV. Let’s have quick look on this device:

    Design and Looks:

The design Samsung launched with Galaxy S3 was loved by people all around the world. I’m talking about the design having rounded edges and lozenge-shaped with just one Home button at the front-bottom with 2 capacitive keys. So they haven’t change the design and made GS4 as well with the same design apart from metallic banding around the side. The only change done is they made S4 bit thinner, sleek and lighter. It weighs just 130gms. As of now Samsung has decided to launch the device in just 2 colors, i.e. White Frost and Black Mist.

    Operating System:

The new Galaxy S4 is running on fully customized latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The OS is optimized to give best and smooth performance in all aspects. I used the word fully customized because Samsung has embedded several new features which we are going to see for the first time such as Air Gesture, S Voice Drive, S Health, Dual Camera, Group Play, Air View without S-Pen, Story Album, Smart Scroll and more.

Being a phablet, Galaxy S4 comes with just 1 short of 5-inch, it has 4.99-Inch Super AMOLED Full HD capacitive Touchscreen Display with 441 ppi pixel density which is quite higher compared to iPhone 5 or Lumia 920. But yeah, it is bit lower than recently launched HTC One with 468ppi. Anyway, we get Full HD Resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with GS4’s 4.99” display. AS it is Samsung’s best so far in smartphones, it comes with Samsung TouchWiz UI.

    Processor, RAM and Storage:

If I’m not making mistake, this is the first time Samsung is launching any particular smartphone model with 2 different Processors. First variant of Galaxy S4 will start shipping with 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor powered by Exynos 5 Octa chipset along with PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU chip. And the second variant which we will receive later in few countries will be running on 1.9 GHz Quad-Core Processor with latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset. Rest all features and configurations in both variants will remain same along with 2GB of RAM. The only change will be in storage capacity. Galaxy S4 is getting released in 3 storage variants, i.e. 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Also there will Memory expansion slot provided.

Along with durability and performance, one more thing that describes Samsung’s smartphone is Camera. Galaxy S IV comes with 13 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash which provides several important features such as Dual Shot, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, HDR, touch focus , image stabilization, Cinema Photo , etc. This camera is capable to record your videos at 1080p@60fps as well. There is also a 2 Megapixel Front facing camera for making video calls or conferencing at HD quality.

One of the best and new feature that we have with this camera is as mentioned above as well “Dual-Camera.” It means you can capture your videos or pictures simultaneously with both front and back camera and later mix them to your stills. We have never seen this before in any brand’s smartphone.

So far Galaxy S4 sounds a most powerful smartphone as per connectivity. We have seen several 4G LTE based devices but they lack in some aspects. Talking about GS4, it has full support for 4G LTE, 2.5G or 3G Networks. Apart from this it is also compatible for Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, standard microUSB, GPS receiver with A-GPS and GLONASS, NFC, Infrared port.

Compared to Galaxy S3’s 2,100mAH battery, in this recently launched device we are going to have better battery. It is 2,600mAH to give you longer duration of Fun. As the battery is removal unlike Lumia 920 or HTC 8S, you can also carry spare battery available in GS4 accessory list.
