Is Jelly Bean the most secured operating system

Till now I have enjoyed using Android OS on my cellphones. And now, we also received advanced version of Android ICS which is Android Jelly Bean on some devices. I am curious to know something about Jelly Bean. Developers have declared that this version is more superior and secured compared to earlier android versions, including ICS. Is really Android Jelly Bean the most secured operating system?

Re: Is Jelly Bean the most secured operating system

According to a security expert’s current exposure, Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) is the most challenging Android OS to exploit till date. So we can draw a conclusion that Jelly Bean is the most secured OS.

Jelly Bean is the first version of Android including a new stuff or technology, it is so-called "Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR)" which randomizes the addresses in memory, in which library, stack, heap and other data structures of the operating system are stored.

Yes, it’s true that Jelly Bean is first to have ASLR even though it was first introduced in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which was not completely implemented. In combination with the ASLR, "Data Execution Prevention" protects users against hacks, in which malicious code is written into memory and executed. The technology has been utilized to Ice Cream Sandwich, although there was no randomization of addresses and therefore no effective protection from attack was noticed. As long as everything is not randomized, ASLR works, because as long as the attacker knows that something is in the same place, this knowledge can be used to handle everything else.

Jelly Bean is the first version of Android, the full ASLR and DEP, so it will be quite difficult to write exploits for this os from hackers side. The Apple IOS platform has been using ASLR and DEP from a year now or more than that, so we can say that compared to Android, Apple is best when security is concerned.

This requires a valid digital signature, thus preventing the execution of unauthorized applications. Google missed to integrated this technology in android devices so far (until JB).

The latest version of Google's mobile operating system Android, known as a jelly bean is the most secure version. The platform was developed so that users are protected against defective installations and was equipped with the latest security technology.
