Just after few days of Windows 8 release announcement, Microsoft has also revealed the launch of Surface Tablets. In a report Microsoft said that they the Surface tablets will launch with their next generation Windows 8 operating system on the same date, 26th October 2012. Well, that’s a good news. Microsoft also added, "Suggested retail pricing will be announced closer to availability and is expected to be competitive with a comparable ARM tablet or Intel Ultrabook-class PC."
They also revealed that Microsoft Surface Tablets will be launched in two variants, first ARM-based version running Windows RT Surface and Intel x86 based Surface Pro. According to the report, ARM based Surface will launch on 26th October with Windows 8 itself, whereas Surface Pro version tablets will hit the market about 3 months later, probably in January 2013.
As per the pricing, though there is no official announcement made by the company yet but as per the expectations, ARM based Surface will cost around $500-$600 and Surface Pro will be priced around $1000.
