At one hand, WhatsApp is just rocking by adding new features every week in WhastApp Beta, while on other side, some smartphones will no longer support WhatsApp messenger at all. This is not a rumor but official announcement made by the company. They also regret the decision by saying:

“This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp.”

This is surely going to be a sad news for few of us.

However, the devices we are talking about here are outdated and very few of us are still using them. The list of phones which will no longer support whatsapp from December 31 are running on outdated platforms and are as follows:

  • BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
  • Nokia S40
  • Nokia Symbian S60
  • Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
  • Windows Phone 7.1
  • iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

So, if you are still using any smartphone running on any of these platforms, you must upgrade to the newer ones to use WhatsApp messenger.
