Google's Free high speed WiFi service called 'Google RailWire' is now available at total 8 stations in Mumbai. Started earlier this year with Mumbai Central, Google covered 19 railway stations across the country by June earlier which now makes total 27 stations having Free access to High Speed WiFi in India.

So passengers now traveling across Mumbai on stations including Churchgate, Bandra, Bandra Terminus, Dadar Western Railway, Dadar Central Railway, Khar Road, Kalyan, Lokmanya Tilak and Mumbai Central can access the Free internet with speed of 1 Gbps. Well we hardly get to access 1Gbps internet at our homes or offices. Google is offering it for free on suburban railways.

There are more 8 stations around Mumbai to get the Free WiFi very soon including CST, Borivali, Byculla, Kurla, Vashi, Panvel, Thane and Andheri. According to the stats, Google and India Railway jointly has installed about 318 access points, 120 access switches and 30 fibre switches on these stations to offer seamless connection.

Apart from all these, there are several more stations lined up for the Free WiFi access soon such as Madurai, Kanpur, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Mathura Jn, Dehradun, Thrissur, Mangalore, Coimbatore, Arakkonam Jn., Calicut, Gaya, Dhanbad Jn., Hajipur and Kota. Remember, Google said to provide WiFi access to 100 Railway stations in India by the end of year 2016.
