Matsunichi, an Asia-based IT products manufacturer that recently changed its name from Le Pan, has announced a new Tablet called MarquisPad MP977. This new tab is running on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS with the powerful dual-core, 1.2GHz TI chip. If you remember the Droid Xyboard running on OMAP 4430, MarquisPad MP977 is packed with the same power.
In addition, there is a 9.7-inch display that offers HD 1024 x 768 resolutions. As per the storage there is just 4GB built-in but can be expanded with microSD card. The battery provided is not so good but lasts upto 5 hours in use. Matsunichi will start shipping the Tab by the end of this month (May) at the price of $249.
I guess Matsunichi wants to compete with the Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 7inch with the configs provided in the tab. They are also planning to launch the second variant of this series called MarquisPad Mp1010 later somewhere in July that will feature 10.1-inch display with 10GB inbuilt storage and running on 1.5GHz TI processor.
