    Oppo Joy 3 Review

Oppo has launched a new budget phone Joy 3. The cost of this phone is around Rs.7990 and this one is the latest addition in the budget series. The phone is impressive when we checkout the features. It is a stylish and a better than its older version. The phone features a new camera technology called as Pure Image 2.0+ that will help you to get a lot more clear and better photos. When it comes to budget phone then it is very hard to find a device with good camera quality. We can get a high mp phones but the camera processing is not so great that generate dull and blurry pictures. Oppo Joy 3 would change your mind in terms of pictures.

The phone runs on Quad core processor and 1GB RAM. Still it is nice for day to day usage and also a bit for gaming. I will not say that the phone is quiet one of the best model, but it is released with a point of taking more better pictures through a budget device. We have more competitive mobile models in the series like Moto series, Xiaomi, Hauwei, who are also releasing budget phones, but lack a stable camera output.

    Oppo Joy 3 Highlights:

    • Display: 4.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touch screen
    • OS: Android OS, v4.4 (KitKat).
    • CPU : 1.3Ghz Quad-core
    • RAM: 1GB
    • GPU : Mali-400MP2
    • Storage: 4 GB. Expandable upto 32GB.
    • Front Camera: 2 MP
    • Back Camera: 5MP
    • SIM: Dual Micro SIM
    • Weight: 135 g
    • Battery: 2000

    Design:

Oppo Joy 3 is a stylish phone. It does not really look like a budget model. It is fair to say that this one is more improved model compared to what we had seen before under the budget series. Device has a 4.5 inches screen on the front side with capacitive keys at the bottom. At the top side lies a 2MP front camera that is supported by Pure Image 2.0 technology. You can take impressive selfies through this. Volume rockers s on the left side and power button is on the right. Audio jack is at the bottom and charging port is on the top side. The phone is quiet sleek when you hold it .It is impressive when you use the device. A full white color layout does not makes the phone look like a budget model. A 5MP camera is placed on the back side. The back cover is removable.

Inside you can find sim and memory card slot. Oppo Joy 3 runs on a 2000mAH battery. It is a good pone in overall terms of looks. You can operate is very easily. 4.5inch screen is not very small or not very large. It is the perfect size that fit in your hand and you can operate the phone more easily with single hand also. The device runs on custom Color OS Skin that adds more to the performance. This skin looks more better if the screen size is around 5inch. But I think under the budget this is not possible for any brand to release a big size phone. There are but then they lack some other features. Oppo Joy 3 is a good phone and it also impressive. If we can get options to change the back cover then we can decorate and make the model more interesting.

    Display:

Having a poor display quality is one of the major drawback when it comes to budget phone. Today we can see a lot of competitive models that offers amazing screen quality with extra protection to avoid scratch. In Oppo Joy 3 we get around 4.5inch screen size. The screen is not having any kind of extra coating like Gorilla Glass cover or any other kind of scratch resistant glass. It has a regular glass coating that developer finger print soon when you use it and also shines in the sunlight. That effect sunlight readability.

The screen is a IPS LCD capacitive touch screen where you get a max resolution of 854x480 pixels. It is a bit lower when I compared this phone with a few other budget series under Micromax, Motorola, and Xiaomi. But still the screen works fine and the output is not bad in terms of video, games and text readability.

    Camera:

Oppo Joy 3 is having a dual camera support. In terms of specification if you see the camera is bit low, but you can take impressive photos with support of Pure Image 2.0+. It processes the image and gives you clear and nice photos. The device has a 2MP front camera that can help you to take nice photos. Pictures are dark if you don’t have enough light in the room. Second the back camera is around 5MP with led flash.

This camera has autofocus that help you to take less blurry pictures. You can get upto 2592 x 1944 pixels of maximum resolution on the same. Pure Image 2.0+ gives you a lot of filters to take impressive pictures in no time. Like if you are taking selfies you can enable Beauty mode and take clear pictures. But do remember that if there is enough light the picture will be clear. Or else you can see a lot of dark sports.

    Performance:

Being a budget phone most of the modes run on Meditek Chipset. The same thing is applicable to Oppo Joy 3 also. This phone runs on Mediatek MT6582 chipset where you get a quad core CPU and 1GB RAM on it. With this there is a bit low end gpu support. That is Mali-400MP2. The device also comes with 4GB internal storage and you can go ahead and upgrade that upto 32GB using a MicroSD card. The phone is nice when it comes to overall output because the 1.2Ghz Cortext A7 quad core CPU works very fine in multi-tasking. But you have to take care that you do not overload it too much. The device has a Kitkat operating system. This is a smart thing Oppo did. If they load the phone with Android Lollipop the it would hamper the performance of entire device making it a failed model. We had seen this in Moto G.

    Battery Life:

Oppo Joy 3 runs on 2000mAH battery. The device works well for a entire day on optimized usage. The small screen contributes more to the battery and so ColorOS UI. The phone is not having much bloatware. Touch quality is nice here and performance wise the phone does not lag or freeze from any point. The device works very well with different apps. But if play games or watch too much HD videos the phone battery drains fast.

    Conclusion:

At a price of Rs.7990 I found Oppo Joy 3 a bit costly phone. When we talk about phones under Rs.10,000 then we can see a variety of models that can beat this device. But the impressive part of the phone is its look and the camera quality. I had seen a ample of people who want a phone that can give them a decent photo output. Oppo has released a lot of successful models in the market. And they are quiet popular now a days. I am quite sure that the phone cost is going to drop after when it comes online for sales in India. It is a good competitor of Moto E series.
