Mozilla Firefox is the browser that is seen on many of PCs as a default browser, including me. Even I like to use Firefox because of its speed, add-ons, etc… But many MAC OS users don’t know how to install it on their system. Hence I thought to share the steps how I did here to help others. Just have a look below:
First of all open your Safari browser and download Firefox 11 from here. Alternatively, you can just visit http://mozilla.org/firefox from your safari and it will take to the download page directly by detecting your operating system and recommend the best Firefox edition for you.
Now wait for few seconds to complete the download, once done, the file named as Firefox.dmg will open itself in a Finder window. You just need to drag the Firefox Icon on top of the Applications folder to copy the firefox file here.
In case you cannot see the Finder window, you will need to click the Firefox.dmg manually to open it.
Now once you dragged the Firefox to the Applications folder, just tap and hold the control key and click in the window. Now select Eject "Firefox" from the menu.
That’s it. Your Firefox is now installed in your OS X LION.
As Mac users usually keep their favorite applications in the Dock bar for easy access, you can even drag Firefox to your dock from your application folder
Now just click the Firefox icon from the dock to launch and start browsing.
