Is Core i5-2520M a good Processor for video editing

I have been looking for a laptop on the basis of processor. And I found a few budget models that are based on Core i5-2520M. I want to know that does this CPU is good enough for what I am expecting. I had not yet compared this one with other modern mobile CPUs.

I can see 4th and even 5th generation Core I series based processor but yet I am not able to find which one is really nice here. I want a laptop for video editing purpose. But I am having some limitation in terms of price so I cannot just go for anything.

It is a Sandy Bridge based processor that offers you a decent output. But it is quiet old processor. It was released in February 2011.

This CPU offers you dual-core processor support. As per its test it has having good multi-tasking potential but not very great. There are some good CPU’s in the market you can still go for compare to this one. Another good thing about the CPU is that this one can also handle over clocking. But you need a good cooling support for the same.

I think you must wait for some time and look for more new processor models.

Digital video editing is a kind of resource intensive work. And for that you need a good CPU with enough amount of ram and also with that you need a decent gpu. So that you won’t face much problem with the performance here.

My friend owns a Quad Core powered system that is Dell XPS. This one is still working very fine as it is having a 2.3GHz quad-core CPU. It is a Core i7 processor which is costly but amazing. And with that it has 16GB of DDR3L RAM and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M GPU. So all this thing makes it a very amazing laptop for video editing.
