Flipkart and Myntra going App only, Shutting down shopping sites

I have been hearing news about some popular ecommerce websites like Flipkart and Myntra shutting down their shopping websites. They are going App only. Is shopping from mobile going greater than the websites?

Although i have couple high end smartphones with me, but i still prefer shopping computer itself because it is quite easy. You can open items in new tab, compare many products, and do lots of things which are just not possible on Apps.

I dont understand what is the logic behind this.

Yes. thats correct. Flipkart still has some time to go App Only. They will shutdown the site by the end of this year but Myntra is just a week away. According to the reports, Myntra will go App only right from May 15th 2015. They have also sent an email today tho all their customers which reads,

"This May 15th, 2015, Myntra is taking the first step towards the future of fashion shopping we move on from the desktop to being exclusively available on the App. "

Well, you or me could be just one of their millions of customers. So, they know better, not us.

However, to understand the logic behind this huge move can be explained by the statement given by a Flipkart executive saying "He said the move to go app-only resulted from the growing popularity of smartphones in India."
