Google Nexus 6 vs Moto X 2nd Generation Comparison

Google finally unveils Nexus 6 a high end Smartphone that comes loaded with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and quiet an amazing hardware also. This phone is available on pre-order at Flipkart. Cost of 32GB Model is Rs.44000; which the 64GB model costs Rs.49000. There are chances that after releasing the phone, there can be a little drop in the price. But here is also having Moto X 2nd Generation for Rs.32000 (16GB).

Here two different phone at a two different price. When we directly compare Google Nexus 6 with Moto X 2nd Generation in terms of price we are having a difference of Rs.12000 (32GB) and Rs.17000 (64GB). Today we will find that is it worth to pay Rs.12000 to Rs.17000 more for a Nexus 6 or still Moto X 2nd Generation is capable enough to give you all features. Let's check out the same.

    Build Quality:

Both Moto X 2nd Generation and Google Nexus 6 comes with a big screen size. Here in Moto X you are getting a 5.2inch Full HD OLED display. You get a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which is not bad from any angle. The pixel density is around 424ppi. Enough for playing multimedia files and for viewing images.

And when it comes to Nexus 6 things are bit increased. Because the screen size is around 5.9inch and so the resolution also increases. It offers you a QHD 2560 x1440 pixel of max resolution on 493ppi. It has an AMOLED display. While both of them are having Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protections on the screen. So you just get a boost up screen on the new Nexus 6. Display quality is quiet same here. But still Nexus 6 due to having a QHD display wins here.

    Android OS:

Nexus 6 is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop while Moto X is still running on the stock version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat. But in future Moto X is going to get a new Lollipop update. It might be in the mid of next year or early. Here in Nexus 6 you get Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. For those who are not having a high budget can go with Moto X 2nd generation and wait back for this new OS update. This is going to save a lot of money.

    Camera:

In terms of camera both the devices are having identical specification. There is nothing much different. If you are thinking to buy Nexus 6 from camera point of view, then Moto X will be lot more cheaper. Nexus 6 and Moto X 2nd generation both are having a 13MP camera and a 2MP front camera with flash support. But compare to Moto X 2nd generation, Nexus 6 can help you in capturing 4K videos.

    Hardware:

Being a bigger phone it is obvious that Nexus 6 will be more powerful. But there is not a very high difference. When it comes to 2nd generation Moto X then device runs on a 2.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC processor which is quiet a high end one and is amazing for multitasking. In the same way it is supported by a 2GB RAM and Andreno 330 for better graphic output. It comes with a 16GB internal memory only.

When we compare Nexus 6 with it we are getting a 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. An upgraded cpu means ore processing power. With this the ram is boosted to 3GB and the GPU is Adreno 420. While you get a 64GB or 32GB storage size. Both phones are not having a sd card slot.

    Battery:

The battery requirement almost rises with Nexus 6’s increase in the display. Or else nobody will be happy with the output. Nexus 6 comes with 3220 mah battery while Moto X 2nd generation is having 2300mAh battery. So you get more power in Nexus 6. You can enjoy a long lasting battery output on the same if you use it more wisely.

    Final Words:

If you think that Nexus 6 is an extreme edition then just wait back. You can get most of those features in Moto X 2nd generation also. A hike of Rs.12000 or Rs.17000 just gives you bigger screen, 1GB more ram, and more battery. While other stuff remains the same. I am quite sure that in future Moto X will get an android update where the version will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
