    HTC Desire 616 Review

There was a time when people were concerned about the inflation in the country’s economy and competition in the market but now most intense competition is seen between mobile industries. Now crowd all over the globe is concerned about which are the best smartphone phones released in the market. Only for this key reason all are giving their best to produce super smartphone for the world and to satisfy the technological need of the user. World has moved from mainframe computer to laptop and from laptop diverted to smartphones. Most of the work is handled by your smartphone today. HTC is one of the hot favorite companies liked by the mass all over the globe. HTC got in to the light once again after the launch of HTC One and bragged all innovative awards in to its pocket. HTC has once again knocked the door of the market to present its new flagship named HTC Desire 616.

HTC Desire 616 will be launched to grab the attention of the youngsters who are looking for stylish as well as powerful smartphone in desirable price. Design of the HTC 616 is adapted by none other than its own revolutionary smartphone HTC One, but has many flaws when compared to design of HTC One. Only looks of the phone is inspired by HTC One rest is just presented according to the price of the smartphone. We are going to review all new HTC Desire 616 to conclude whether this phone will carry on the fame of HTC trade mark or it will be just average smartphone in the market.

    Design and Packaging:

As we already discussed that HTC Desire 616 is inspired by its native HTC One but body of the phone is not inspired by HTC One. Body of Desire 616 is made up of plastic imprinting glossy look on back panel. Glossy plastic back looks like we are handling low priced phone in our hand but front of the phone is given some good looks with matte finished body extending from display to sides of the phone. Design cue is borrowed from its predecessor Desire 816 which is good but doesn’t work to enhance the design of the phone. Glass on the screen extends to the bottom of the phone which looks like One-Glass solution but its not. Curved edge of the back gives phone to have slimmer look which is intelligent move by HTC.

Phone is measuring 142 x 71.9 x 9.2 mm and 150g (5.29 oz) a good measurement and weight for mid-range segment phone. Front of the Desire 616 is very simple with huge 5-inch display in the front and above space is allotted to earpiece inspired from HTC One and proximity and ambient light sensors to the right of the top and 2MP front camera to the right of sensors. Arrangement on the top of phone looks decent as it has stylish earpiece along with sensors and camera. Bottom shelf has good space and is occupied by branding of HTC logo. Capacitive touch buttons like home, options and menu are included in display itself. Coming to the back panel, it is glossy plastic material which gives low-priced smartphone expression but is carved with phones most important hardware camera, flash and loudspeaker.

Camera and flash has occupied the back top portion whereas HTC logo in the middle and loudspeaker of the phone at the bottom of the phone. Sides of the phone are made of plastic as well with hardware of power button and volume rocker on the right edge leaving left hand side vacant. The microphone and Micro-USB port for charging/data transfer are on the bottom of the phone, while the top has the 3.5mm audio jack.

    Re: HTC Desire 616 Review

HTC is very concerned about the display hardware and is already proven that HTC produces very accurate and natural color reproduction than AMOLED display of Samsung. HTC uses Super LCD technology for its higher end model phone and that is absent in Desire 616 which is very disappointing news, HTC has made use of normal capacitive touch display or you can say ordinary display.

Desire 616 is having 5-inch display with resolution of 720x1280 pixels packed with 294 ppi. Same display configuration was found in Micromax Canvas HD released last year; it means HTC is running far behind than Micromax in terms of display configuration. Viewing angle and color reproduction of the display is good but not the best as we are prone to conclude when talking about HTC phone. Brightness of the phone is good but not the best, sun-legibility is not that great in this phone.

    Features and Specs:

Itís time to review the vital section of the smartphone, HTC 616 has made use of octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz with Mali-450MP4 graphics. HTC has made use of MediaTek processor for its flagship which is disappointing because rests of the smartphones are making use of Snapdragon 400 processor for its mid-range level smartphone. MediaTek chipset are good and its performance is fine but not good compared to Snapdragon processors.

We cannot suggest HTC to review its handset so letís see what HTC has planned for the performance of the phone. Eight core processors with 1GB RAM are just perfect combination to handle any stress triggered by user. Multi-tasking, multi processing, HD gaming and watching HD movies can be handled with ease. Phone has 4GB internal memory and further can be extended to 32GB only and this can be little let-down factor of the phone.

HTC 616 is provided with 8MP camera which is capable of shooting sharp images when the lighting conditions are perfect. Camera is another let-down factor in this smartphone because captured images showed natural color reproduction but was low on details. Whereas low-light imaging is very disappointing and flash too donít help much. Primary camera can shoot videos at 1080p but videos too donít turn out to be enchanting and appear like true HD. Front camera is helpful for video conferencing because it shoots video at 720p.

HTC has made use of Android 4.2.2 OS on its latest flagship and reading this specs for OS anyone will go mad because world is sailing with latest Android smartphone but HTC is still in old times. May be HTC produces OTA update for its flagship but surely OS installed in the phone is very disappointing. UI of the phone is installed with HTC Sense 5.5 instead of HTC Sense 6 UI with only good feature is that we can turn of the BlinkFeed.

HTC 616 has given with 2,000 mAh battery to serve the phone for longer hours. HTC has shocked us again because phone is running on eight-core processors and has huge display and HTC thinks providing 2,000 mAh battery will enough for its flagship. Under stress test it produces only 6 hours of backup whereas while operating minimally it lasted for 11 hours. All we can say battery of the phone is not up to the mark.

    Re: HTC Desire 616 Review

HTC Desire 616 is just average phone with lots of demerits in it. HTC 616 has good specs and features on the paper but delivering those features is great challenge for HTC. Phone has given out with huge display but absence of Super LCD, phone has powerful hardware and specs but absence of Snapdragon chipset. Phone has 8MP camera on paper but has poor imaging sense, operating on the OS which was hot pick for all smartphones last year.

Not but the least it has poor battery backup to handle all its resources for all day long. You can get much better smartphone than HTC Desire 616. HTC will have to improve a lot while introducing smartphones in mid-range segment.
