Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 (SM-G7102) is yet another Samsung smartphone to receive the latest Android firmware update. Android 4.4.2 KitKat is up and rolling onto our Galaxy Grand 2 via OTA. The phone made its debut with Android 4.3 Jellybean and now its time to lick KitKat flavor. The update package will be available only via OTA (over-the-air) update with a file size of 360.90MB.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat update adds the smooth performance to the device with Project Svelte which was introduced in 4.4 KitKat, It is an alternative process Runtime Environment with JIT (Just-in-Time) Compiler which you can change in the Developer Settings in Settings Menu. By this update, the device will see some UI changes like the status bar area will be all transparent and white in color.


More features like Lock screen Camera shortcut,KNOX,Full screen Album Art on lockscreen,Samsung Wallet and Performance and some Security Updates. With this update the device will run more smoothly and will be more functionable with less RAM usage making it a boost on battery usage.


The other Samsung devices like Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy S 4 and Galaxy Note 2 have already received the firmware update of 4.4 KitKat. Some leaked sources are even confirming an update package is rolling for Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 before its release date in Russia, hope we Indians soon be receiving the update for our Galaxy Mega 6.3 and 5.8 too.
