Finally the Developer Preview is out in the market and now it is possible to port that to Nexus 5 and 7. • Go in settings and then tap on applications. Just go in development and enable usb debugging.
    • Connect the phone to the pc and ensure that you have the latest usb drivers installed. Without that it is will be hard to flash the image file.
    • You will have to setup android adb in your system. You can do that by downloading adb package and keeping them in the folder.
    • Charge your phone to maximum. Do not attempt to run the installation if battery is low.
    • Download Nexus 5 Android L image. This will be only used for Nexus 5 device.
    • Download Nexus 7 Android L image if you are installing on Tablet.
    • Download Fastboot/ADB files for Windows. If you are windows this files will work.
    • You can also separately download Fastboot/ADB files for Mac.
    • Recheck that your system has the latest adb drivers installed or else the process will fail.

    Installation Process:

    • Extract the content of android adb on your desktop in a folder.
    • Extract the content of android l image file also in the same folder.
    • If you are on windows then go in the folder first. Hold shift button from keyboard and then right click. Choose run command window. This will automatically take the path of adb folder.
    • Connect the phone to the pc through original usb cable. Ensure that usb debugging is on.
    • In the cmd you have to type adb devices and hit enter. This will detect the device. If not detected then proper usb drivers are not installed.
    • Now type fastboot devices and hit enter.
    • Type adb reboot bootloader and hit enter. This will reboot the phone.
