    LG G3 Review

    Introduction:

Highly anticipated LG G3 now finally rock the market. This phone falls in the extreme phablet category where you are having a amazing big size screen and good hardware to run various apps/games. Today we are going to checkout this phone in much more detail to understand whether it is a worth buying device or not. Somehow this type of phablet does not attract much because of its high price. But still those who are willing to switch their phone can have a look on this. Why the reason I am going to tell later. LG G3 is capable of beating a few high end phablet in the market like Xperia Z2 and Galaxy S5.

According to me, i can say LG G3 is designed to deliver performance. There are really great software features which has push LG on the top of Smartphone manufacturers list. This phone looks a bit slim and classy in design. It has a QHD display that simply deliver amazing screen quality with a great camera. It has a big 5.5inch screen on the front side. This screen features TrueHD-IPS LCD display that offer you a maximum resolution of 1440 x 2560px at 534ppi. And above that it is covered with durable Gorilla Glass 3 that can prevent scratches and damage.

It comes loaded with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. LG puts its own UI Optimus UI on LG G3 that add many more features instead of going with the stock rom. LG G3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset. This one is the latest one that comes with a pair of quad-core 2.5GHz Krait 400 processor and 2 or 3GB ram depending on the model. Also for graphics it is supported by Adreno 330 GPU. So here you can see the high end hardware config due to a extreme chipset. The phone has a 13MP front camera. This camera is powered by many additional feature that will surely boost the photography. Like face detection and laser autofocus. The images are crisp and completely clear. In night you can use the dual-LED flash to make your images more brighter. Camera quality is very impressive. For video chat this phone as a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

This device also provide you two storage variants. It is 16GB and 32GB which is quiet enough. It run on 3,000mAh user-replaceable battery. Overall LG G3 comes with pack of all features that are needed for a high end phablet. Lets checkout it in more detail, but before that let's have a quick look at the highlights of LG G3:

    • Android 4.4.2 KitKat Operating System
    • 5.5 inch Quad HD IPS touch screen display
    • 2560 1440 pixels resolution with 538ppi pixel density
    • 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor
    • 2GB of RAM
    • Adreno 330 GPU
    • 13 Megapixel rear camera Laser Auto Focus, OIS and Dual LED Flash
    • 2.1 Megapixel front-facing camera
    • 4K video recording
    • 16GB internal memory, expandable upto 128GB using microSD card
    • 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 , GPS, NFC, Slim Port
    • 3000 mAh removable battery with wireless charging

    Design and Packaging:

LG G3 is not at all poor in design. Being a latest model, LG has to work hard on making this phone best compared to others. Because we already has a few slim phone that fall in 5.5inch to 6inch screen. They are durable and has a amazing screen quality. So here LG has to do something different to get a good display so that people can get happy with everything. Not only with the hardware but with design and usability. 5.5inch screen covers most of the part on the front side. This makes the phone really large but not think. I do not really think handling the phone is not a big issue here. The design and handling are amazing here with all buttons place well on the sides.

The device is bit large in width. It will be hard for you to push that in the pocket. Carrying it with a case is recommended to avoid damage on the body. The device is just around 8.9mm thick due to which you can keep it nicely in the bag or purse. The entire weight of device with battery is only around 150g. The size features thin bezel cover that makes the design a bit classy. Buttons are nicely placed on the side that are accessible with one hand also. I found a similarity in the design with HTC ONE M8. There is a tiny difference while many things look same here. Rounded corner and slim design makes it very much similar. The back panel of LG G3 is removable and battery also. You can see all the slots placed on the backside behind the back cover. The good part here is that you can go for different colors like Red, Violet, White and Gold. When you get this phone for the first time you will need a bit time to adjust your fingers on the same. And once done you can use it. Due to large screen size, for those who have small hand have to use both to operate it.

Do not try to squeeze it, can slip out. Above all the phone design is not durable. That means it is not dust or water proof while other phablet have this option. It add a bit of mental safety if you own a durable device. You have to worry less. LG G3 looks to be have a improved display and performance leaving durable features aside. It is easy to use the back panel which is bit thin so handle it properly. The usb port is placed at the bottom but does not supports usb 3.0. LG G3 is still equip with 2.0 that makes this phone a bit slow on charging and data transfer compare to Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or S5. The device has dual camera. A 2.1MP is placed on the front and powerful 13MP is placed on the backside. The back camera is supported by dual-LED dual-tone flash that help you to take amazing photos. It has a new kind of later autofocus sensor. This helps you to make image more detailed and clear. The camera quality is amazing here.

LG G3 has a 300Mah battery. It is removable not locked. Good display is one of the most important aspect of any mobile phone you own. Especially when it comes to a phablet. LG G3 has a qHD display. This create amazing screen quality for viewing picture and movies. True HD-IPS+ LCD screen produce is great for doing work on the phone screen. 5.5inch add enough space to move you entire finger, checkout your facebook page or simply type a email. LG G3 has one of the best display screen with great color. The viewing angle is also nice. LG G3 has a true HD display which is better and amazing.

    UI and features:

LG G3 comes loaded with the latest Android 4.4.2 kitkat operating system. And it runs on LG's Optimus UI. This is the proprietary interface that has more additional feature compare to the regular stock one. The make the phone a step ahead. There are huge amount of options available to choose from various animations. The UI is very easy to use and has many more features.

You can simply modify the screen as per your need. It does not lag or freeze even if you are running a live wallpaper in the background. You can add up different home screen on the same and you can place various widget and shortcut on it. Navigation button will help you to exit a app or to go on home screen. The response time by them is really fast and works well even if you are wearing glove.

There is a Smart Bulletin option on the home screen. It is placed on the left side. This one give you latest update about various things. If you had seen Blink feed in HTC then it is similar to that. You can get many news and update from the same. But remember it is resource intensive. The notification area is accessible by swiping it to the down side from top. You can also use two finger swipe.

The app drawer provide you many quick setting. Overall the UI is really amazing. It is fast and fluid. It does not lag even if multiple app is running on the backside. It look like the quad core cpu is able to handle everything properly. LG G3 also comes with Dual Window feature. That means you can run two apps at the same time and divide them on two windows separately. this is a good feature which was first found in Samsung.

    Performance:

LG G3 is a performance phone. Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8975AC Snapdragon 801 chipset makes it a high end phablet that can run all type of hd games easily. The Quad core Krait 400 cores is clocked at 2.5GHz each. That means you are having enough power to run any app instantly. With 3GB ram the app does not lag. It is very important to have a good hardware configuration if the screen size is big. Or else a low end cpu cannot maintain the entire performance. It will not be able to maintain Hd resolution on the same. I am quite impressed with the output.

I had played many games on it and they work nice. But this drain out the battery really fast. It is always good to have higher configuration so that you don't have to worry about future updates. Benchmarking scores are really impressive on the same. With additional features in the LG G3 ui you get many productivity options. Like In-call screen. that means you can simply silent the phone by putting it upside down. The loud speaker quality is also great while calling. The noise cancellation mic provide you a good and clean audio quality on the other side.

    Battery life:

Having a optimized battery performance is one of the biggest issue for a phablet. LG G3 runs on a 3,000mAh battery. It is very important to have a big size battery so that it can work nicely for the entire day without charging it again and again. In terms of battery LG G3 is satisfying. That means it can give you a decent output.

You can use it for the entire day if you are not playing much games on the same. Here using it for hd videos, camera and gaming can cause early battery loss. At that point keeping a second battery charger with you will be more helpful. The battery works fine at the time of calling. Sometime when you play games continuously for hours the battery heats a little.

    Re: LG G3 Review

    Conclusion:

LG G3 has long way to go. It is a very nice product by LG. And it looks LG has devoted extra time to make this device perfect. It is ideal for gaming, photography, videos, and chatting. From no angle this device fell short. You have a good battery output if you are not really pushing the phone really hard. The phone has a nice look and it is a worth phablet to go for. Except it does not comes with durable features. That means no water proof or dust proof design. This makes it poor in usage and you have to take care while using it.

I will recommend you to add a nice cover on it. With shirt display LG G3 is ideal for professional usage also. There are ample of great functions in it. Crisp display and ultra wide viewing angle makes the screen very helpful to work. Good loud speaker increase your audio quality. Performance wise the device does not fell short from any angle.
