Unlock Bootloader in Motorola Moto E

Moto E is one of the best budget Smartphone in the market. This device is sold out after release and this one gives you Kitkat out of the box. The device is powered by a good hardware due to which it is possible to use a few custom rom the same. The device is powered by 1.2 GHz MSM8x10 Dual Core Processor and 1GB ram. It provide you 5 MP Primary Camera without flash. It has a 4.3-inch Touchscreen display. Overall output of this phone is amazing. It is ideal for day to day and for multimedia.

You can also enjoy a bit of gaming also on the same. I think this device is just great when it comes to rooting stuff. Today I am going show you how you can simply unlock the boot loader of Motorola Moto E. This phone is ideal for testing purpose. After unlocking the bootloader you can play with the custom roms. But remember that this one is a unofficial method. It can cause warranty issue so move ahead on our own risk.

    • Backup your phone data before moving ahead with the process. You can use MoboGenie here. This is a free pc suite software for all android devices. To copy the entire data you have to enable usb debugging in it.
    • You will need a windows based pc with latest Android SDK installed in the same. You can download the package from official android website.
    • Update the latest usb drivers for Moto E in your system. Without that it will be not easy to use the device.
    • Charge your phone completely before moving ahead.

    Unlocking Process:

    • The first step is to put the device in fastboot. For that you have to simply restart the phone. For that just hold the power button with volume down. Turn the phone off and hold the keys while turning it on.
    • Now you have to open the folder where you had extracted the content of Android SDK. In that right click and click on cmd. This will take directly in the fastboot path.
    • In that type - $ fastboot oem get_unlock_data and hit enter.
    • You will get a unlock key in return. This will work when the phone is detected well. There will be long digits in the key. And boot loader will be mentioned in bracket.
    • You have to copy this 5 lines first in a note pad file. Then you have to remove the boot loader bracket from it. There must be a single line. Merge those line into one.
    • The next thing you have to do is visit the Motorola website and there look for unlock phone section. Copy paste the key in that. You will get a unlock key from there.
    • You just have to add this key in the fastboot mode and done. Restart your phone
