How to Unroot and install Stock ROM Firmware in Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S5 is a high end Smartphone that comes with Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 cpu and 2GB ram. This phone also has a nice gpu that is enough to give you hd game output. Samsung Galaxy S5 was released recently and was quiet widely sold around the globe. Being a high end phone it lands well on all expectation. The phone is powered by latest hardware and it has all thing you need. I had seen people rooting their device and when they are not happy with that they have no way to restore things back. Flashing rom is a one way process. When you root you also lose your phone warranty. You won't get any benefit from the service center.

There is a way available through which you can simply restore the original factory os back in the phone. Thanks to Odin. The Samsung flash tool. Through this tool you can simply restore the entire os back again and enjoy the factory settings. It will also unroot the device. The process which I am going to tell you will work for all Galaxsy S4 models. IT is very important that you must backup your data before doing this. Second important thing is that you must download the right firmware for your phone. Flashing wrong firm can brick the device. Different variation of Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with different firmware version. So you cannot just flash any firmware on your device.

It is always good to check the build number before rooting or flashing the rom. Through that you can find the stock rom. So lest move ahead with the process.

    Requirements:

    • Backup your entire phone data. We are just restoring the rom that means we are re-installing the OS back again. So it will wipe out the entire phone data and files. Backup your phone through Samsung Kies.
    • Charge your phone to maximum. There must be more than 80% of battery life in your device. Never attempt this kind of process on a phone that has low battery.
    • Update the latest Samsung usb drivers in your pc. If you had installed Samsung Kies then you can skip the process.
    • Download Odin3 V3.09.
    • Download the right firmware version for your Samsung Galaxy Device. Never attempt to install rom if you are not having the correct version.

    Unrooting and installation Process:

    • Extract the content of downloaded Odin zip file on the desktop of your pc in a folder.
    • Now run Odin.exe file.
    • Go in your device and tap on settings. Then tap on the developer options and enable usb debugging.
    • Once done reboot your phone in the download mode. For that turn it off first and then hold the volume down + home + power key. The device will turn on in download mode.
    • Connect the mobile phone to your pc with original usb cable.
    • Once done in Odin checkout the ID:Com section. See that whether it turns blue. This means the device is detected. If not then there is no usb driver in your pc. Update that back.
    • Once done tap on AP and then you have to choose the firmware file. It will be in .tar.md5 format. This is the stock rom which we are going to flash.
    • Add a tick on auto reboot and factory reset opting. If there is any tick any other remove it.
    • Once done with this click on Start and wait back. The process will take a few time and your official stock OS will be restored.
