How to enable USB Debugging in Samsung Galaxy S5

I'm new to this place, looking for some urgent help. I bought the new Galaxy S5 just 2 days ago. I installed an APK manually and since then the phone started freezing and lagging. One of my friend suggested me to root the phone to run the app properly. So, for this reason, i want to root my S5. But when i go to the settings, i cannot see the USB Debugging option anywhere, as mentioned in the guide. I checked the manual as well but it doesn't appears anywhere.

So, i request any of the techie here to please let me know how do we enable the USB Debugging mode in Galaxy S5. Please let me know the easiest method as i am not aware of such things. Thank you.

In order to enable USB debugging in any Android phone, you first you need to enable Developer options which use to be Disable by default. Also, in all Android devices, there is the same process to enable developer option or USB debugging. Here is how:

    • Go to your Galaxy S5's Settings and tap on General Tab
    • Scroll down at the bottom and tap on Above Device.
    • Now you need to tap 7 times continuously on 'Build Number'
    • While tapping continuously, you will see a message on the screen that you are going to unlock the Developer options. Dont panic or stop tapping.
    • After 7 taps, you will see a message saying you are now a developer.

Now as you have enabled the Developers Option, just go to the settings, tap on Developer Option, slide the slider to enable the options and enable USB Debugging. That's it.

G-One is correct, you can only disable it but cannot make it disappear.

But if it is very necessary to disappear the entire Developer option from your settings panel, then there is only one way. You will need to factory restore the phone.

Nope, you can not disable the developer option. Once it is enabled, it is enabled. However, in S5, after you enabled Developer options by tapping build number, you get a slider next to that option, right? If you want you can disable it when not in use but you cannot make it disappear like it was earlier. Also there is no problem if it is visible in your settings. It is not going to harm your performance in any way.
