Installing Android 4.4.2 Kitkat Update on Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Galaxy Note 3 is the latest Flagship premium phablet from Samsung launched last September, and it is still popular all around the world because of its amazing unique features. The phone was launched with Android 4.3 Jellybean and recently it got an Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update, but only in Poland. After 10 days of the first roll out in poland, Samsung today released the update in India as well. However, still rest of the world is waiting for the same and it may take upto few weeks or months to reach each region and each carrier.

But, if you want you can test out the latest Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update right away on your Galaxy Note 3 using this guide. This is the official leaked version of Kitkat 4.4.2 which is going to be available for your phablet, but later. This guide is suitable for both Note 3 N900 as well as Note 3 N9005. The process is quite simple and can be done in few minutes. If you are interested, just follow the below procedure but before lets have a quick look at its pre-requirements:

    • First of all, to be on the safer side, Backup your entire device including contacts, messages, calendars, etc.
    • Make sure the battery is atleast 60% charged because of it gets drained out during the process, your device may be in problem.
    • Enable USB Debugging by going to Phone's Settings > Developers Option
    • Download Galaxy Note 3 USB drivers and install them in your computer.
    • Download Odin Flash Tool from here and save it on your desktop.
    • Download Android 4.4.2 Kitkat Firmware Package for Galaxy Note 3 N900 OR Galaxy Note 3 N9005 (any one of these depending on your phone's model). Extract the firmware package in a new folder on your desktop.

The firmware package is about 1.2GB in size. Once you are ready will all these requirements, we can move ahead for the installation process. Make sure you know what you are going to, if this is your first time installing custom ROM, i'll suggest you dont attempt because if anything goes wrong, you can brick your phone, and obviously we or this site is not responsible for the same. Although this process is tested successfully on both version of Galaxy Note 3, you will have to do it on your own risk.
