How to Unroot and revert to Stock ROM in Motorola Moto X

Motorola Moto X is a new Smartphone which is counted as one of the best device under budget. It is also quiet popular due to its amazing features. The device provides you a nice 1.7 GHz dual core CPU with Adreno 320Gpu. It has 2GB ram that is good enough to run all kind of applications and game. The phone is ideal for multimedia and gaming. It has a good design and also very easy to operate. Now many of you have rooted the device. After rooting you lose the pone warranty and you also stop getting the new software updates.

So here I am going to show the process through which you can unroot your phone back. The process is bit lengthy but effective. This helps you to have the stock OS back. Before moving ahead first have a look on the below requirements.

    Pre-Requirements:

    • Backup your entire phone data. Backup everything. This process will wipe out the storage so you will lose everything.
    • Enable USB debugging from Settings > Developer options.
    • Download Motorola Moto X USB Drivers
    • Download Android SDK on your system.
    • Download RSD Lite Tool on your system.
    • Download Stock Android Firmware for Moto X
    • Ensure that your phone has maximum battery left. Low battery can cause problem with restoration process.

    Installation Process:

    • First install Moto X USB Drivers in your system. This is necessary. Without proper drivers the phone will not be detected.
    • Install Android SDK in your system. You can download the same from androd.com
    • Install RSD Lite on your pc.
    • Extract the Stock Firmware package which you had downloaded for Motorola X. In that search for a file that has .xml .
    • Right click on the file and choose open with notepad.
    • Search for this line - <step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />. Delete this line and save it.
    • Now connect Motorola X to your pc through usb cable.
    • Press Start + R from your keyboard. Type cmd.
    • In cmd type adb reboot boot loader and hit enter.
    • After that you have to run RSD lite tool from the system. Click on start to begin the firmware installation.
    • Wait back until the process is over. This would take some time.
