Wherease devices like Galaxy S3 and Note 2 are still waiting for official Android 4.2.2 JellyBean, we will today find out how we can run the latest Android 4.3 JellyBean operating system on Galaxy S2 I9100G which will bring you several new features which have been seen in Android 4.3. Note that this is not the official way of updating. Official updates are received in your handset in the phone updates section. This is an unofficial custom firmware update.


If you are willing to update your S2 to latest Android version, just follow the steps provided below but before that make sure that you meed the following pre-requirements:

  • Charge your phone fully or make sure it is charged at least 75%.
  • Back up your data so that there is no loose of anything. Also the custom recovery should be downloaded into your micro SD.
  • Download CM10.2 Android 4.3 ROM (164MB) and store it in your computer.
  • Download the required USB drivers for Galaxy S2.
  • Download Google Apps from here and save it in your desktop too.


Once you are ready with the above steps, Here are the steps using which you can update your handset to the 4.3 Jelly bean custom firmware. Let’s start with installation process now:
  • Install the USB Drivers on your computer
  • Copy the downloaded ROM file and Google Apps package on your phone's SD Card. Make sure to copy it to the root of your SD card so that it can be easily browsed during installation from recovery mode.
  • Now Turn Off your handset and start the recovery mode by pressing volUp+Home+ Power key simultaneously.
  • Using your Volume rockers scroll down and select Wipe Data, then Wipe Cache
  • Now go to Advanced and select Wipe Dalvick Cache
  • Now back to the main recovery menu and select Install from SD Card > Install Zip from SD Card.
  • Select the android 4.3 ROM zip that you had downloaded and start with the installation process.
  • Once the ROM is installed, select Gapps and install the same as well
  • Reboot your system by selecting +++++Go Back and then reboot now.


After rebooting your system your phone restarts and is running on the android 4.3 ROM.
