Asha Series have been a huge success for Nokia since they launched the first device in October 2011. So far we have got over 10 mobile phones including QWERTY as well Touch Asha phones. Now Nokia has introduced yet another member of this series named as “Asha 201”. These phones come in five different attractive colors including Yellow, Cyan, Black, Magenta, and White. As we know Asha Phones are basic phones with Smart features, the new Asha 201 has something similar.

The phone comes in two variants that are Dual Sim as well as Single sim version. Both variants feature 2.4-inch LCD display offering 320 x 240 pixels resolution. There is also a 2 Megapixel rear camera to capture your favorite moments but obviously we cannot expect a very good quality images because of low resolution. Similar to other Asha phones, with 201 we get connectivity options like GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth v2.1 and WiFi. Again 3G is missing from this model as well but that doesn’t matters a lot as you as 2G as well as WiFi connectivity support. As per storage the device comes with built-in 64MB of storage Capacity but there is an expansion slot provided where you can use upto 32GB MicroSD Card.

It seems like Nokia has build up this phone especially for Social Networking and chatting purpose. We get four-row physical QWERTY keyboard with a dedicated WhatsApp as well as Camera key. As the messaging client is getting popular, Nokia has provided this built-in with Asha 201 along with other social networking apps like Facebook and Twitter. In the Dual SIM variant of this phone 1 Sim is placed inside the cover while second sim slot is provided on the exterior body just like we had in Asha 308. The devices are running with 1200 mAh battery which offers upto 46 days of standby battery life.

Nokia Asha 201 is expected to hit the market by June this year and will cost upto Rs. 4,000/-
