Nokia India today announced a new Windows Phone 7.5 based Smartphone and a new edition in its Lumia series especially for Indian Markets named “Lumia 510”. This is going to be the cheapest Lumia phone until now and hence they have named it as Diwali Offer for us. Though there is no exact announcement on the price for Lumia 510, but it is expected upto Rs 11,000/-
Featuring 5 Megapixel camera, Lumia 510 is running with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 7.5 (Mango) operating system with pretty good performance. It is powered by 800 MHz Snapdragon S1 processor 256MB of RAM. It has 4-inch TFT capacitive touch screen display offering 800 x 480 pixels resolutions. The only drawback of this device is there is no slot provided for external memory card and it comes with just 4GB internal storage. But the company is offering 7GB free Sky Drive storage for life time.
As per connectivity Lumia 510 provides GPRS/EDGE, WLAN 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, GPS/A-GPS, micro-USB, 3.5mm audio connector (AHJ + WP Controls), Dual Transfer Mode and HSDPA/WCDMA.
Similar to other iOS and Androi mobiles, Nokia Lumia 610 also comes with preloaded Nokia and Microsoft apps such as People Hub, Office Mobile, Internet Explorer 9, Nokia Maps, Drive and Transport, etc. There are also social networking apps including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. Users will also get 3 months free subscription for unlimited Nokia Music and Mix Radio.
Though the actually price announced by Nokia is $199, it will probably cost upto 11,000/- for Indian customers and is expected to hit market by November, probably before Diwali.
